President Cunningham visits the St. Paul campus
In late September, University of Minnesota President Rebecca Cunningham visited the Minnesota FarmHouse Fraternity at the St. Paul campus and held a meaningful conversation with representatives from the St. Paul Greek community, including Alpha Gamma Rho, Beta of Clovia, Delta Theta Sigma, FarmHouse and Lambda Delta Phi.
The undergraduate members from the St. Paul Greek houses had the chance to engage with President Cunningham, ask important questions and showcase the unique community that thrives on the St. Paul campus. The President also highlighted upcoming capital projects and renewed the University’s commitment to reinvesting in the St. Paul campus.
The St. Paul campus is often seen as a smaller community, and many believe that is part of its strength. Smaller communities create space for deeper connections and Greek life plays a big role in shaping those bonds. Greek life here includes two sororities, Beta of Clovia and Lambda Delta Phi, and three fraternities, Delta Theta Sigma, FarmHouse, and Alpha Gamma Rho. With CFANS rooted in food, agriculture, and natural resources, these Greek houses carry strong traditions that connect to the College, develop thoughtful leaders, and create a lasting impact in the lives of their members.
A shout-out to the alums from the St. Paul Gopher Coalition who supported the student leaders in implementing the event, which included a meal planned by Mary Bartz, Ingrid Gangestad, Julie Drechsler, and Joel Reiman and was prepared by alumni from all five houses. Ingredients and products were donated by alumni-owned businesses or organizations they work with. Businesses included:
- AMPI
- Autumnwood Farm
- Cannondale Farms
- Cold Spring Bakery
- Compart Duroc
- Double T Acres
- Ellsworth Creamery
- Hormel Foods
- Jennie-O Turkey Store
- Kosbau Brothers LLC
- Lorenzland Dairy
- Opal Foods
- Martin County Pork Producers
- Redhead Creamery
- Thorson's Farm Fresh Produce
- Woods’ Edge Apples Orchard
The St. Paul Gopher Coalition is a cooperative effort between Alpha Gamma Rho, Beta of Clovia, the CFANS Alumni Society, Delta Theta Sigma, FarmHouse, and Lambda Delta Phi. It is seeking additional member organizations that have a vested interest in the St. Paul campus. Please contact [email protected] if you are interested in more information.
