While we hope to hold an in-person commencement ceremony for CFANS undergraduate students at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021 in 3M Arena at Mariucci, University COVID-19 restrictions will determine whether or not full-capacity, indoor events will be allowed at that time.

Graduate

While we hope to hold an in-person commencement ceremony for CFANS graduate students at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 30, 2021 at the St. Paul Student Center, University COVID-19 restrictions will determine whether or not full-capacity, indoor events will be allowed at that time.

What's the difference between graduation and commencement?

Graduation is the completion of all degree requirements as recorded on the official transcript. Commencement is the ceremony that celebrates the completion of a degree. Participation in the commencement ceremony does not imply that you have officially graduated.
