Give to CFANS

Science driving a sustainable future

There are a thousand ways to make a better future.

At CFANS we look at the bigger picture. When we envision a better tomorrow, it includes lakes free from invasive species, disease-resistant crops, products that protect our health, and so much more. We use science to find answers to the world’s grand challenges and solve tomorrow’s problems.

Every day our students, faculty, and staff use science to create a world that will feed our growing population while sustaining the natural resources upon which we depend.

Few other public universities even come close to the breadth of our expertise, allowing us to tackle challenges in novel ways. We develop leaders that see more possibilities and produce solutions that work for real people. This creates a powerful force for change.

Ways to Give

Recurring Gift
Recurring gifts are one of the easiest and most impactful ways to give. They provide dependable support and cuts down on administrative costs, making your gift go even further. The process easy and convenient—you can set up a sustaining gift via your credit card or bank account and online or through a mailed gift form. Faculty and staff can sign up to make ongoing gifts through payroll deduction.

One-time Gift
Make a gift to support CFANS and of the one top priorities for the college or search for your area of interest. You can also give to a department through searching at the top of the page, or visiting the departmental website, which are listed below. Faculty and staff can sign up to make ongoing gifts through payroll deduction. Give online or mail in a gift form.

Matching Gift
Many companies offer programs that match charitable contributions from their employees. If your company offers a matching program, complete the matching gifts section on the gift form. Not sure if your employer matches gifts? Check our database.

Planned Giving
You can decide now to support the college in the future. Planned gifts may take the form of a simple bequest from a will or living trust, the designation of retirement plan assets, life insurance, or a gift that can provide income payments to you or your loved ones for life. Please contact Lynn Praska at lpraska@umn.edu or 612-624-4158 to learn more. The University of Minnesota Foundation provides detailed information on planned gifts, including:

Endowments
Endowments provide stable and predictable funding for designated college programs, Endowments grow over time. The principal is invested and a portion of the fund’s value, currently 4.5 percent, is made available each year to support the purpose determined by the donor. If you’re interested in starting an endowment, please contact a staff member below.

Student Philosophy

We know that college is a big investment, which is why we’re thankful for the students that choose to give back while attending CFANS. We recognize student philanthropists with a special CFANS Supporter pin so they can show the world that they're giving back.
