Starry Trek

Saturday, August 10, 8:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.

Starry stonewort is an invasive algae that was first found in Lake Koronis in 2015 and has continued to slowly spread to other water bodies in Minnesota. Now we are asking for your help in searching other lakes to better understand its distribution in Minnesota.


Art in the Garden

Friday, August 16, 4–8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, August 17–18, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

Art in the Garden is a unique showcase of art and nature, featuring more than 70 local vendors, from culinary to crafts to fine arts. Arboretum guests of all ages can meet the artist, mingle, stroll, eat and shop. 


Sensory Friendly Saturdays at the Bell Museum

This monthly series provides a welcoming and accessible environment for individuals, families, and children who have sensory sensitivities. Experience the Bell Museum with lowered lighting, quieter sounds, and fewer visitors.


Hmong Garden Celebration

Sunday, August 18, 11 a.m.–3 p.m.

Celebrate the 2024 "Seeds of Knowledge & Healing" Hmong garden in the Garden Gallery at the Farm at the Arb. We'll celebrate May Lee's Hmong herbal odyssey and the Hmong herbal traditions they have cultivated in the Twin Cities Hmong community for 40 years.


Cloquet Forestry Center Open House 2024

Wednesday, August 21, 4:30-8 p.m.

Spend an evening among the pines at the Cloquet Forestry Center. Take a wagon tour through the forest, engage in a fireside chat with forestry experts, and more at this annual open-house style event! 

 

 


CFANS at the Minnesota State Fair

Thursday, August 22 to Labor Day, September 2, 9 a.m.–9 p.m.

CFANS staff, students, alumni, and faculty: Sign up to volunteer as a greeter in our CFANS exhibit! Training is provided in advance. You receive a free admission ticket for the day and a CFANS T-shirt. 


Applehouse Season Opening!

Thursday, August 22, 9 a.m.–6 p.m.

We look forward to welcoming visitors back to the Arboretum's AppleHouse on Aug. 22 with new, extended hours from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. daily. This seasonal shop features a rotating variety of freshly-picked, in-season apples and apple goodies including apple cider, frozen apple pies, gourmet food items and seasonal decor.

Arboretum Field Fest 2024!

Saturday, Sept. 7, 10 a.m.–3 p.m.

The annual Field Fest celebrates the harvest at the Farm with a family-friendly festival! Enjoy plant-to-plate cooking demonstrations in the Myers Education Center Kitchen Classroom, take part in informative crop, orchard and garden tours, and participate in a scavenger hunt, interactive games and educational exhibits. Dig into the dirt to harvest sugar beets or try the hands-on activities in the Family Tent. Check out a variety of food trucks and a beer garden.
