Gotta Minute? (for Silly but Serious Science about the Environment)
Coffman Memorial Union Great Hall
Meet the creators of MinuteEarth and Hot Mess and learn how they are working to foster a love for science and better stewardship of our planet through short and engaging online science videos. A reception will follow the program.
In 2013, Regents Professor Peter Reich of Forest Resources and his sons, Alex and Henry, started MinuteEarth, an illustrated educational YouTube channel inspired by Henry’s success with the YouTube channel MinutePhysics. Alex Reich also recently helped launch Hot Mess, a PBS YouTube channel that aims to envision an environmentally just climate future for the United States. Alex has a master’s degree in natural resources science and management from the University of Minnesota. Peter's teaching, research, and outreach focus on how climate change is impacting our ecosystems, what that means for our future, and what we can do about it.
Sponsored by the Friends of the University Libraries, this event is free and open to the public. Tickets are required at the door. Learn more here.
