Fall or Spring Semester

Virtual Internships

Virtual International Internship is a four-credit internship opportunity. It’s critical to learn to adapt, acclimate, discover new ways to contribute, and be productive working remotely. Virtual internships combined with the internship course give you an opportunity to learn and develop valuable skills.You’ll work on projects from the US for an international organization in a variety of countries, while adding a global perspective to your professional work experience. You’ll apply your in-class knowledge to real-world meaningful work, gain experience, expand your skill base, earn four credits from coursework, and maximize your time.


MSID - International Development in Ecuador 

6 week full-time internship in Spanish (4 credits) following 7 weeks of coursework and language immersion. Many environmental and agricultural placements as well as opportunities for all CFANS majors.

Experience a blend of indigenous and Spanish colonial society, while improving your Spanish language skills. You’ll also contribute through an internship or research project with a nonprofit organization while you are there. Explore the complexities created by issues such as the environment, globalization, public health, and social justice.


MSID - International Development in Senegal 

6 week full-time internship in French (4 credits) following 7 weeks of coursework and language immersion. Many environmental and agricultural placements as well as opportunities for all CFANS majors.

Senegal is a fascinating French-speaking country seen as a bridge between Africa and the West. You’ll also contribute through an internship or research project with a nonprofit organization while you are there. Explore the complexities created by issues such as the environment, globalization, public health, and social justice.


MSID- International Development in Thailand

6 week full-time internship (4 credits) following 7 weeks of coursework and language immersion (Thai). Many environmental, animal and agricultural placements as well as opportunities for all CFANS majors.

Study international development in Thailand, the only southeast Asian country not colonized by European powers and a hub for manufacturing, agriculture, and tourism. You’ll also contribute through an internship or research project with a nonprofit organization. Explore the complexities created by issues such as the environment, globalization, sustainability, and social justice.


Study and Intern in London: England 

Part-time (6 credits), while taking other classes abroad. All majors and areas of interest possible.

Participate in an internship in almost any field, sample cuisine from around the world, ride on the London Eye, and master the London Underground.


Study and Intern in Sydney: Australia

Part-time (6 credits), while taking other classes abroad. All majors and areas of interest possible.

Experience the dynamic city of Sydney through a professional internship and courses that deepen your understanding of Australian culture.


Study and Intern in Florence: Italy

Part-time (3 credits) while taking other classes abroad. In English. All majors and areas of interest possible.

Learn or improve your Italian while strolling the streets of Michelangelo and Dante. Study art in world-famous museums and work side by side with locals as an intern. Explore contemporary and historical issues facing Italy through excursions around Tuscany, and a study tour to Sicily.


Study Abroad in Dublin: Ireland 

Part-time (3 credits), while taking other classes abroad. All majors and areas of interest possible.

Live and study in the heart of Dublin. Participate in an internship, research project, or practicum to engage with the local community.


University of Sydney: Australia 

Part-time (3 credits), while taking other classes abroad with local students. Can be arranged through the University of Sydney upon arrival, not guaranteed but many opportunities are available.
