OIE supports efforts across the college to cultivate a community where all students, staff and faculty feel seen, valued, and empowered to succeed. This commitment is supported through several key initiatives, including the Disability Resource Center, which partners with students and faculty to facilitate campus accessibility; guidance on Holidays and Religious Observances to help the community acknowledge and respect various cultural and spiritual traditions; and LGBTQIA+ resources that provides education, advocacy, outreach, and support to students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members and foster a sense of belonging for all.

Reporting Resources

Bias Response Referral Network (BRRN): BRRN receives reports of bias incidents on the Twin Cities campus. It responds to all reporters with written information about supportive resources and refers reports to either the University's Equal Opportunity & Title IX office (EOT) or the Office for Student Affairs for further review, investigation, educational coaching, supportive measures, or other response strategies.

University Resources

University of Minnesota Office for Equity and Diversity Unit Offices include:
- Circle of Indigenous Nations (COIN) advances and advocates for the needs of American Indian/Native American, Alaska Native, and First Nations students on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus. COIN offers specialized services, programs, events, and resources to assist students throughout their journey at the University.
- Office for Conflict Resolution provides an integrated conflict management system for University employees who have workplace concerns.
- Office for Digital Accessibility (ODA) is the systemwide entity designated to provide resources and services to the University of Minnesota community in support of the creation, development, and procurement of accessible electronic content and services.
- Disability Resource Center promotes access and equity for all students, faculty, staff and guests of the University, through design of innovative learning and working environments and collaborative education and partnership with the University community.
- Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence develops and fosters inclusive learning for undergraduates at the University of Minnesota through educational support programs and community engagement, and cultural activities.
Faculty and Staff Associations help make the University of Minnesota a more welcoming and inclusive place to work and learn.
Campus Climate Survey is a foundational tool for understanding how members of our community experience belonging, respect, and inclusion at the University of Minnesota.
