About Me
Hello Students!
I have been an advisor at the University of Minnesota since 2007. I started advising in the College of Liberal Arts and moved to the College of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resource Sciences in 2015. Before advising at the U of M, I worked for three years at Concordia University in St. Paul. I have a BA degree in Humanities from the College of St. Benedict and an MS degree in Counseling and Student Personnel from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Advising students in Animal Science and Fisheries, Wildlife and Conservation Biology excites me because of the diverse range of possibilities students can pursue after graduation. I am committed to guiding student's growth and development over their four years at the University. I enjoy providing students with a path to their career and providing opportunities to explore and develop new interests while at the University of Minnesota. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to study abroad while I was an undergrad, spending a semester in Greece and Italy. This is one example of opportunities I am able to help students explore as they grow and develop in their major area of study at the University.
Outside of work, I live in Hugo with my husband and two children, Jacob and Haley. I enjoy watching my son play hockey and my daughter do gymnastics. In addition, I enjoy traveling, cooking, reading and leading a healthy lifestyle. A lifelong Minnesota resident, I love the Twin Cities because of the access to the Arts, nature and the small-town feel in a big city.
In CFANS we are committed to providing a comfortable, inclusive and respectful environment for all of our students. Working together, in partnership, we will make your University experience rich and fulfilling. I look forward to working closely with all students to navigate the University to meet the unique needs of each individual.
