A year worth celebrating: Welcome new CFANS students

June 2, 2021

Spring holds a special significance at CFANS and the University of Minnesota as a time of change. One day the trees on the St. Paul lawn are bare and the next the magnolias are in full bloom. In much the same way, one day in the spring the college waves goodbye to its latest graduates and then the next it begins preparing to welcome its newest students in the fall.

After a year of virtual and hybrid learning, CFANS is thrilled to invite a new class of students from around the world onto campus as official members of the U of M and CFANS community. Congratulations and welcome to the incredible students who will be joining the CFANS community this fall!

While unpredictable learning environments presented new challenges to students and families, this class of admitted students navigated each with the resilience and passion that CFANS prides itself on. "Some students have faced difficult circumstances specifically because of the pandemic," Freshman Admissions Counselor Abby Reynolds said. "The fact that they have persisted through this hardship and are planning to attend college in the fall is nothing short of amazing."

Together, the CFANS community found new ways to embrace change through innovative events and connections, and, as a result, it is preparing to welcome one of its largest and most diverse classes to date.
