A group of researchers have entered a long-term collaboration with Minnesota and Wisconsin tribal members to conserve Manoomin (natural wild rice) through biophysical and social science research that centers tribal priorities. Named Kawe Gidaa-Naanaagadawendaamin Manoomin (First We Must Consider Manoomin), the partnership also prioritizes rebuilding tribal trust in the University.
