Plant Protein Innovation Center's 5th Annual Research Spotlight Meeting
The Plant Protein Innovation Center's 5th Annual Research Spotlight Meeting is May 22-23, 2024 at the Coffman Memorial Union. The meeting will showcase research that is actively being conducted in the plant and alternate proteins space, including the projects funded by PPIC. Dr. Stephan Drusch of Technische Universität Berlin will be our keynote speaker, who will present on challenges and opportunities for plant proteins from agri-food side streams.
The event will also feature presentations from several researchers, internal and external to the PPIC researcher cohort. The talks will cover topics in protein structuring, protein extraction and modification, scaffolding in cultured meat, artificial intelligence to identify bioactive peptides, microbiome effects of plant proteins, among other topics. A panel involving PPIC's industry partners will discuss key research needs in the plant and alternate protein ingredients and products category.
The event also includes an interactive poster session with the opportunity to speak with students and researchers directly. There will be a number of networking opportunities to connect with potential collaborators, customers, partners, and fellow plant protein aficionados.
Registration is now open and will close on May 13 at 5 p.m.
