Pink Moon Night Hike

Sunday, April 25 - Monday, April 26, 8 - 10:30 PM (CST)

Join us for a special after-hours hike under the full moon. The hike will start at the Ordway Shelter with colorful lights illuminating the trees on Three-Mile Walk to the Boardwalk. Luminaries placed along the boardwalk will light your way as you enjoy the full pink moon. The route will continue around the Green Heron Pond to bring you back to the Ordway Shelter. We'll have fire pits to warm any chilly fingers and toes, and s'mores for sale (COVID restrictions require everyone to be seated while eating.)

April’s full moon is widely known as the Full Pink Moon, even though it doesn’t actually turn pastel pink as the name suggests. The Full Pink Moon’s name comes from the abundance of moss phlox, a common little pink flower that typically begins to spread across the ground in early spring.

No pets allowed and face masks are recommended on the trails.

$5 for Arboretum members and children 15 and under; $20 for non-member adults.
