Webinar: Impacting the above-average intentions of Minnesota anglers: Does message medium matter?
Despite the best intentions, incomplete and inconsistent performance of behaviors that prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species leaves Minnesota waterways at-high risk for infestation. To influence boating anglers’ intentions to perform required behaviors, we developed and tested messaging in traditional sign formats and contemporary augmented reality formats. Learn about the results of these tests and if and how message medium impacted boater intentions.

Dr. Ingrid E. Schneider is a Professor in the Department Forest Resources at the University of Minnesota. Schneider teaches and does research in the human dimensions of natural resources with attention focused on outdoor recreation and nature-based consumer experiences. She has worked across the globe exploring how constraints and conflict impact visitor and tourist experiences and collaboratively developed ideas to improve those experiences. Among other service contributions, she served as editor of the Journal of Leisure Research and was nominated as a Fellow to The Academy of Leisure Sciences in 2012 and The Academy of Park & Recreation Administrators in 2020. Schneider also served as Director for the University Tourism Center for a dozen years. Prior to joining the University of Minnesota, she was an Associate Professor at Arizona State University.
