Throughout the evening, there will be a number of learning opportunities for attendees to hear from experts about different home gardening topics, such as raised bed and container gardening, home garden remedies, creating a pollinator habitat, perennial flax for gardens, and up-and-coming plants to watch for. There will also be healthy soils demonstrations to help attendees understand how the health of their soil impacts the health of their home gardens.

Attendees will also be able to join garden walking tours and WCROC farm tours, spend time browsing the vendor booths, grabbing a bite to eat from the food booths, and listening to the live music from the Tri-State Band. There is a raffle with a chance to win a wheeled Yeti cooler, which you enter just by registering at the gate.

Keynote Speaker

Join us at 6 p.m in the Display Garden to hear a presentation from Derek Carwood with the UMN Landscape Arboretum about micro-ecosystems: redefining the home garden. Ecosystems are often imagined as vast, untouched landscapes far from the reaches of humanity. But in reality, even smaller plots of land like our home gardens can function as hotbeds for biological diversity. Join Derek as he shares his thoughts on creating naturalistic plantings and creating your own micro-ecosystem. He will cover how to design, manage, and maintain beautiful landscapes great for people and wildlife alike.
