Assistant Dean for Student Services and International Programs

Hal DeLaRosby

Hal DeLaRosby, PhD, serves CFANS as the Director of Student Services & International Programs. As director, Hal works to enhance the student experience for all CFANS undergraduate students, and assists in creating a sense of belonging for students and supports them in persisting through graduation. CFANS Student Services includes Admissions, Academic Advising, International Programs, Land-Grant Legacy Scholars program, President’s Emerging Scholars program, Scholarships, Student Services and Undergraduate Research.

As a college student, Hal was a track and field student athlete (400m and 4x400m relay), an admissions tour guide, and an orientation guide. Hal found his college experience so transformational that he asked his advisor as a senior, “How can I stay in college the rest of my life?” so he could provide positive experiences for new college students. This question led him to continuing his education and completing a master’s degree in College Student Personnel at Western Illinois University (IL) and a doctoral degree in Higher Education – Student Success from Azusa Pacific University (CA).

Originally from Two Harbors, MN (go Agates!) Hal brings over 20 years of higher education experience having worked at Wartburg College (IA), University of Wisconsin-Platteville (WI), Pacific Lutheran University (WA), and Western Kentucky University (KY).  Additionally, Hal has taught several courses, including the CFANS Transfer Student Seminar and study abroad classes to the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Denmark.

You are invited to connect with Hal and the student services staff by visiting the CFANS Student Services area on the first floor of Coffey Hall.
