Well, hello there!
My name is Rose, and I am a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) and the new Wellness Navigator in CFANS and I’m really excited to get to know you! A little bit about me… I grew up in Hopkins, Minnesota and didn’t travel far for college. For my undergraduate degree I earned my B.S. in Family Social Science, and B.A. in French Studies from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. As an undergrad, I was a President’s Emerging Scholar student and peer mentor, which became my strong support system. I also had a wonderful experience studying abroad in Montpellier, France for an academic year. Post-graduation, I worked one year with AmeriCorps through College Possible and from that experience decided to pursue higher education and social work. In 2018 I started working for the President’s Emerging Scholars program at the U of M as their Program Assistant and then Program Coordinator. While working full-time, I returned as a part-time student to earn my master’s in social work from the U of M. Now I have my dream job that combines both my passion for higher education with my social work degree, which highlights the importance of equity/social justice, trauma, mental health and advocacy work.
I am super passionate about self-care, so when I’m not working, I like to fill my cup by spending time with family, friends and my puppy Margaux! I also love being outdoors, traveling or taking on some house or crafty DIY projects.
