Produced on the St. Paul Campus

Golden Gopher ice cream is made in the University’s Joseph J. Warthesen Food Processing Center — or Pilot Plant — in the Department of Food Science and Nutrition.

CFANS students are involved every step of the way — from raising cattle and conducting food science to hands-on production, sales, and marketing.

The Pilot Plant is managed by Mitchell Maher '08 and directed by Professor Jayendra Amamcharla.

Celebrating 175 Years Through Community

This anniversary is a celebration of the students, faculty, staff, and alumni across all 87 Minnesota counties who make the University extraordinary.
