"The Soil and The Story" Exhibition
The Goldstein Museum of Design’s latest exhibition in the HGA Gallery (Rapson Hall), The Soil and The Story, celebrates Black Soilship in the Black Belt by highlighting 12 farms researched in the last three years across Maryland, Virginia, the Carolinas, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas. Its organizers, bridging the College of Design and CFANS, invite you to explore the relationships between science, nature, history, and culture—here and wherever you stand.
Moments of Memory: Minnesota Landscapes Painted from Life
Plein air painting is the art of capturing outdoor scenes from life. This form of painting from life moves artists out of the studio to study real landscapes. The result is a snapshot of a moment in time, one that might be remembered, but never repeated. Visitors to this exhibition at the Bell Museum will learn about the art of painting outdoors, its importance in the field of natural history, and its role in the making of the Bell’s dioramas.
