Southwest Research and Outreach Center Winter Crops & Soils Day: Lamberton

These programs feature UMN researchers discussing pest management in a changing economic and biological landscape, long-term influence of available soil water, precipitation, temperature and tillage on corn and soybean yield, how rainfall and snowfall contribute to crop nitrogen needs, matching cover crops to your goals, emerging farm financial trends in southwest Minnesota, and bioreactors as a management practice for nutrient removal. Programs with identical content are held at the Southwest Research and Outreach Center in Lamberton on February 5 and Grand Prairie Events in Luverne on February 6.

In-person registration for the programs will begin at 10 a.m. on the day of each event, and the $40 registration fee includes refreshments, handouts, and lunch. Walk-ins are welcome but pre-registration is encouraged.

A webinar broadcast of the program in Lamberton will also be available for those who cannot attend in person. Registration for the webinar must be completed online. Continuing education units for certified crop advisers have been applied for.
