The University of Minnesota participates in a national research communication competition for graduate students called "Three Minute Thesis." Competing graduate students use a single slide and have three minutes to deliver a compelling description of their research thesis. Within the U of M, graduate students compete with each other to earn a spot to participate in the national level competition.

The College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS), College of Biological Sciences (CBS) and College of Veterinary Medicine (VMED) are holding their competition on October 23 on the U of MN St. Paul campus. Six people from various disciplines (academic, industry, government, communications) serve as judges panel for this competition.

Cash prizes will be awarded - $500 for 1st place (in each college; determined by judges panel) and $250 for Viewer's Choice award by audience vote. Light refreshments will be available.
