Schoolyard Gardens Conference

Friday, March 3, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

This year's gathering of Minnesota’s thriving schoolyard gardens community — held at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum and open to the public — will explore how schoolyard gardens can be seeds of change in our communities.

Join educators from across Minnesota to hear speakers behind a variety of successful programming such as the Master Gardener program, the U of M Extension's new Schoolyard Gardens Food Safety Handbook, U of M Center for Climate Literacy, Farm to School Minnesota, the Extenions’ Harvest of the Month and more.

Keynote speaker and Twin Cities digital artist Marlena Myles will share her vision for restoring our connections to the land as well as how to use land as a teacher. Other sessions will explore how nature informs education and the benefits it provides. A certificate of completion for continuing education contact hours will be available to participants.

Special Ticketed Conference: $100 member/ $115 non-member; includes Arboretum admission, coffee/beverages, sessions, hot lunch buffet and snack.
