March Full Worm Moon Hike

Did you know this month’s full moon is named the Full Worm Moon because this is the time of year that earthworms start to come out of hibernation? Join us for this after-hours event at the Arb under the glow of the Full Worm Moon. This month’s illuminated hiking path will start in the Sensory Garden parking lot and follow the Buuck Farm Trail out to the Farm at the Arb. Along the way, warm up around one of the multiple bonfires, which will be located in both the Sensory Garden parking lot and the Event Lawns at the Farm at the Arb.

In honor of the worm moon, the Arb’s Integrated Pest Management Specialist, Erin Buchholz, will be stationed at the Sensory Garden parking lot to educate visitors about jumping worms, an invasive species that eats roots of plants and other biomass that protect the soil from erosion.
