Dean's Dialogue

Colorblind or Color Brave: Conversations on Race
October 23, 12 PM - 1 PM

The subject of race can be very touchy. Why is it so difficult to talk about? As finance executive Mellody Hobson says, in her popular Ted Talk, talking about race is a "conversational third rail." But, she says, that's exactly why we need to start talking about it. How can we be less anxious and more comfortable in our conversations about race? How can we be “color brave?”

The dean’s dialogue is an open exchange of ideas and an effort to understand each other’s ideas about diversity. The goal of this dialogue is not necessarily to make a decision or reach consensus. Rather, the dialogue encourages everyone to learn about diversity in CFANS, explore new issues, and build deeper meanings on important topics. All are welcome.
