CFANS Equity and Diversity Certificate Program via "ECHO"

The University’s Office for Equity and Diversity (OED) developed and also facilitates an Equity and Diversity Certificate Program that is offered fully online. It is referred to as the Equity Certificate Hosted Online (ECHO) program. CFANS offers the same ECHO certificate experience but in an environment in which participation includes only CFANS staff and faculty. You can register for ECHO program courses in the links below.

There are ten different topical courses offered in the CFANS ECHO program.

  • For each topical course, you will engage with reading and media materials in a Canvas course and then participate in a Zoom dialogue session. This engagement represents and reflects ways we can learn and grow in equity and diversity work – intellectual learning, emotional processing, and practicing skills.
  • You may complete the Canvas course readings and activities at any time, but the Zoom group dialogues are offered at the times as specified below.

Each course includes the following:

Pre-work (reading and media materials) via Canvas course

Upon enrollment in each topical CFANS ECHO course, participants will be directed to the associated Canvas course. Each Canvas course includes various reading and media materials and resources to review. The material focuses on expanding one’s intellectual understanding and emotional processing of the core concepts related to the CFANS ECHO course topic. All CFANS ECHO courses are asynchronous.

Zoom Dialogue Section

Each CFANS ECHO course also features a 90-minute online dialogue via Zoom. In order to successfully complete each CFANS ECHO course, participants must attend the Zoom dialogue section for which they have enrolled. Group dialogues provide opportunities to respond to prompting questions and scenarios related to the course content and provide the opportunity to put knowledge and skill sets into practice. Co-facilitators will lead dialogue participants through an action planning process to identify next steps for taking learning into application. Each topical ECHO course has one 90-minute Zoom Dialogue Section as scheduled below (see times below).
